:: Desert Whites ::
A subtle ring but large enough to have presence and energy, this white-on-white stone makes a beautifully minimalist composition. The fossilized tree fern is from Brazil and is about 400 million years old. This one of a kind cabochon was made by Gary Wilson. Gary has been my go-to lapidarist for 20 years: he has a way with jaspers and unusual materials that I’ve always loved. This stone has an exquisite meandering design accompanied by a tiny vug filled with minute crystals, kind of like the entry to a secret underground chamber. Its creamy hues work perfectly with natural linens and off-whites.
The setting is handmade sterling silver, done in my very primitive style with all marks and bits of solder left in place to enhance texture. It features a desert rock-hammered wire embellishment framing the stone. The band underneath is deeply heat textured. All silver was worked and finished entirely by hand using only the simplest tools.
For desert spirits and fearless souls...
